“Amnesty demands probe into Israeli bombing of UN building 1/16/2009 10:22 AM ET
(RTTNews) - Amnesty International has demanded an immediate and independent inquiry into the Israeli army's shelling of UN installations in Gaza City that disrupted providing humanitarian aid to suffering Palestinian civilians and injuring UN workers.The headquarters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) was partially destroyed and three of its employees were injured in Thursday's attack.The UN aid agency's warehouse containing food and medicines was destroyed as the two shells from an Israeli tank caused fire."The attack on UNRWA, apparently targeting a clearly- identified humanitarian compound, underscores the need for an impartial and thorough investigation", said Malcolm Smart, Director of the Middle East and North Africa Program, in a press release issued late Thursday
He warned: "Deliberate attacks on humanitarian assistance facilities or personnel may constitute a war crime."Friday, a New York-based human rights group termed Israel's artillery shelling into crowded Gaza areas as indiscriminate attacks. Human Rights Watch said Israel sometimes fires 155-milimeter artillery shells at gunmen, who often operate from crowded areas. A military analyst with the group said that the shells can kill people up to 150 meters away.”
Way to go Israel! Now, how much would you charge to do the same thing to the UN building in New York City?
Oh and I wouldn’t worry about “War Crimes”, it’s kind of like Dave Chapelle said when he did his now famous “Black Bush” skit…
“If you don’t like it {referring to the UN} then sanction me, sanction me with your army. Oh wait; You don’t have an army! So why don’t you just shut the {expletive} up!”
